hire me
I’m always open to discussing the perfect opportunity. If I sound like a good fit, let’s chat. I’m also open to consulting or CTO-in-residence positions.
About Me
- I wrapped up my time at Glitch and have been enjoying a break
- I’m a software engineer with 20+ years of experience building for the web
- Throughout my career, I’ve switched between engineering and management roles, and most recently was doing both simultaneously
- Comfortable with either path going forward - I love building things and leading teams equally
Management Path
I’ve led teams of all sizes (4-22 people) through high-impact situations like acquisitions, major product launches, and complex integrations. I thrive working at a higher level setting strategic direction, but I’m also comfortable leading engineers of all skill levels - from interns to principal engineers.
My leadership experience covers the entire tech stack, from infrastructure orchestration to improving front-end performance and accessibility. I’ve guided teams through acquisitions, prepared multi-year plans, and managed multi-million dollar cloud budgets.
I’m looking to move beyond middle management, but can definitely fit there if the role is right. I shine when I can connect technical strategy with business goals and help teams deliver their best work.
What I’m Looking For in Management
- A chance to set technical direction and strategy
- A team I can mentor and grow
- Leadership opportunities that blend business and technical goals
- Clear scope and ownership with room to make an impact
Engineering Path
Having watched people build incredible projects of all sizes on Glitch, working on the DevRel team at Fastly supporting massive projects that powered the edge, and seeing the future of WebAssembly unfold, I’m passionate about making things.
I’m more comfortable on the front-end but have worked in many languages, love talking to users directly, and iterating quickly. With over two decades of experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, and other web technologies, I’ve built design systems, IDEs, and services used by millions. While I’m comfortable across the entire stack, I really light up when creating experiences that delight users.
What I’m Looking For in Engineering
- Staff-level individual contributor roles
- Projects with direct user impact
- Front-end focused work, but comfortable across the stack
- A culture that values iteration, quality, and user experience
- Opportunities to mentor while still contributing code
